He's right. Nintendo is needed in the industry of gaming. They're basically what Disney is to the Movie industry. Without Disney, that industry would have almost no light hearted nature.

Like movies, games are increasingly becoming darker, more violent, and more controversial. It's something kids really, should never be exposed to. Hell, I'll go on to say, adults don't need to be exposed to. But, adults know more, and can understand these things

A child could be confused as to just what is being said and done. Sure, kids know games aren't real, and things done in them should never be done in real life. But the subjects brought up in them, are very much real. As well as the exposure shown.

Nintendo offers what is increasingly disappearing in this and other entertainment industries. Light hearted, honest, imaginative games. Set in fantasies. Worlds not like ours.

Todays games, yes, even the ones set in fantasies, are clinging more, and more to realism. Trying blur the lines of what's fantasy, and what's real.

Why is it so bad for games to be dark and violent? Not saying they all should be, but there's nothing wrong with them. People are intrigued by it.

Lots of popular works of literature are much darker than any video games.

Bitter about what?? It's true, the guy is acting like some superior executive, while his own house is crumbling.

Maybe he thinks sony might go under(or he might get canned), and he will need to hit them up for a job after. You know the whole not burning your bridges thing ;)
