Not having a gamepad feels like a big step backwards to me now

I'm currently playing, and loving, Bioshock Infinite right now. That being said, it feels it really shows how much I miss playing on the gamepad. I've been doing mostly Wii U gaming lately, and now going back to not having everything on the screen in front of me and having to pause all the time to see menus and stuff is kind of annoying now. That and not being able to play on the controller when my girlfriend wants the tv is kind of a bummer too. I always knew I loved the gamepad, it really shouldn't be taken for granted.

I agree. Something is lacking when I use my ps3 and 360.

People always downplay the usefulness of off tv play and map features or real time switching but at the end of the day, these are perks that make the games better.

I feel exactly the same. I cant imagine playing ac4 on another console. Gta 5 felt ancient just having to pause constantly.

The lack of a second screen doesn't bother me, but the PS3 controller feels like a tiny kids' toy now compared to the Wii U gamepad.

I LOVE the gamepad...its going to suck going back to PS4 when I buy it to just using a normal controller...maybe they will incorporate the vita more ..hopefully....

I'm playing Arkham Asylum on pc with a 360 controller and I keep looking down expecting a map as on AC4 (my most recent Wii U game).

Good to see I'm not alone in feeling this. I really feel Nintendo hit a home run with the game pad and if only more people would go into it with an open mind then perhaps people would see that the Wii U is a great option for any multiplatform game that comes this way.

I agree. It's nice to see that some people actually like the gamepad. The only thing that concerns (and it could just be my cynical mind) a few of the posts sound kind of sarcastic. I fully admit and hope I am wrong but there is still that nagging thought in the back of my mind.

The one thing I am hoping is that Sony takes more advantage of the Vita for 2nd screen. nbean16 brought up the perfect game for my example. Imagine having your inventory, map, online stats etc all on the Vita screen and swiping between the screens. I really hope Sony adds this feature when they do the eventual re-release of GTA V on the new consoles.

Let me rephase my last statement. Re-Release of GTA V if R* has even two brain cells.

Just purchased a Wii U Pro Controller, and wow, I much prefer gaming on the GamePad.
