Following this new game that just came out for ...SNES, Nightmare Busters ( video at http://ca.ign.com/videos/2014/01/27/ign-plays-nightmare-busters-a-new-super-nintendo-game ), it make me wonder if the SNES could make a return. Let say this happen:

- Nintendo announce that they are releasing the SNES consoles with new titles ( Exemple , Zelda A Link to the Past 2, Super Mario World 3, New Super Metroid, Earthbound 2, etc )

- Companies are also jumping in. Square, Konami, Capcom, EA, Koei, Ubisoft announce they are in and will release titles for the consoles.

Why can this happen? Because Indies games are for the moment a great revenue and generating interest. 16 bit gaming is still always love and remembered as one of the best generation. Because game cost of development would be low. When u consider a title like GTA 5 cost $266 millions( or about 15-20 millions for a great title ) , compare to snes game that were costing like about 300k to develop.

So, are you in?

People would still think they had the skill of a school child that games were harder then, but are just soooo easy today.

As if their skill isn't improving over 20+ years of video game experience. The Nintendo Cycle would just happen again like it has the last 30 years.

Nope. As awesome as the SNES was, I'd also love to play some 3D games as well.

Just release those new games as Eshop games on the WiiU or 3ds.

What's the issue?

The issue of not controlling a snes controller. The issue or not holding a cartridge. The issue of if u want to play a multiplayer game, you have to call your friends to ask them to come over to play together rather than play online together by voicechat.

Ah, so you want to bring back the 90s. The SNES only had two ports by default, by the way.

Nothing is stopping you from inviting friends over for some local multiplayer. Nintendo consoles are still designed around it, after all.
