It would be Capcom, if Nintendo would ever acquire a development house.

It's pretty easy why.

They are not too expenive to buy, but have IPs with loads of wasted potential like Resident Evil, Devil May Cry or Mega Man as well as stuff like Street Fighter or Monster Hunter and ESPECIALLY under Nintendo's SPD supervision I'm sure their wasted IPs like Resident Evil and Mega Man could be critically acclaimed again like a decade ago.

Their franchises are also not unknown on Nintendo consoles, but would fill a constant missing niche on Nintendo consoles for a while. If stuff like Resident Evil and Devil May Cry could be associated with Nintendo consoles, they could lure some of the hardcore crowd again coupled with the usual quality Nintendo franchises. They're also not aversed on working on Nintendo consoles, judging by Monster Hunter and other stuff.

In comparison, Sega is too expensive and have almost no IPs worth of interest anymore, epspecially in the mainstream markets that Nintendo is not good at. Buying Konami would just be Metal Gear and Castlevania and while Metal Gear is pretty big, Kojima would leave the company directly. And they're just too expensive for what you will get. Other companies are either too big or not worth it.

So if it would be one, it would be Capcom.

I agree. Capcom would be the most likely large company that Nintendo would acquire. The way I see it, Nintendo will either acquire a large developer like Capcom, or a bunch of smaller developers like platinum games, next level games, level-5, treasure, sumo digital, monster games.

I just want Nintendo to actually start doing it. Like, when they presented it to the investors, they should've already been in talks with other companies.

I hope this will never happen. I sure as hell don't want games like Street Fighter 5 and MvC4 among other fighters to end up on the Wii U instead of the PS4. The userbase isn't big enough and I would rather just see these games on the much more powerful system.

Graphics aren't everything, but they sure are nice to have. I want them to improve on SF4 and MvC3, not create something comparable.

I think Capcom can make more money being multiplatform than they can being tied to a single system. So if Nintendo is going to buy them they'd better offer up a ton of money.

That's the reason why exclusives basically don't exist anymore beyond first party games.

The only candidate for acquiring a large developer is Capcom. Otherwise there is no chance they'll buy an other somwhat big game development company. There is no other somewhat logical option.

Capcom is the kind of company that makes excellent games like Monster Hunter 4 but then takes the $400 million that MH4 made and spends it on mobile gaming that won't give them the return they're expecting.

It's like the competent developers are getting throttled by the ignorant douches at the top.

But they would be a first-party developer.

So if they acquire them, making money is not Capcom's concern anymore. It would be Nintendo's.

And obviously they will offer them a ton of money, because they would have to buy their stock.

1. Capcom on their own don't even have enough money to make a next gen fighter.

2. They lost the marvel license.

3. Exclusives are what sell systems. Anyone who calls themselves a true street fighter fan, will buy whatever system it's on.

4. The specs for nintendo's next system are rumored to be super powerful.

Don't you think that companies like Sony or Microsoft would've bought Capcom if they could? Nintendo could not possibly afford them, especially now.
