There are a lot of great guitarists out there, but James Hetfield is just a GOD.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks!
P.S. Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets?

RTL by a long shot.

Master of Puppets has a more refined sound and is a bit more focused. There's something a little more twisted and brutal about it that I love.

For Whom the Bell Tolls(one of my favorite Metallica songs) and Fade to Black are the two best tracks on RTL, the rest of of the album isn't at that level.

Next question:
Who's your favorite Metallica bassist? Cliff, Jason, or Robert? Name a song that you think defines their playing style!

When it comes to his down picking speed, he absolutely is. He's even faster than Jon Schafer and Dave Mustaine. Master of Puppets is all down picking... I've only seen one cover of that song that was played correctly, and that was Dream Theater. Everyone else I've heard uses alternate picking for the verse riff, even Holocaust and Trivium.

Jason, and some may call me crazy for this pick, but The Outlaw Torn.

Jason- My Friend of Misery
Robert- Suicide & Redemption

Cliff is my favorite, but I like them all.

Ride the Lightning for me but not by much. I think Creeping Death is easily on par with Tolls and Fade. It's actually my favorite song by them. The only misstep on Ride is "Escape" IMO.

My favorite bassist is easily Cliff Burton. Anesthesia rocks my face off.

That said, Master of Puppets is excellent as well. Disposable Heroes and Orion are just masterpieces.
