How is Kirby and the Amazing Mirror?

Great Cave Offensive was super-linear, but that's the best thing to compare Mirror to.

So yeah, GCO meets Metroid.

Good, that was probably my favorite mode, trying to find out how to get all the treasures.

Squeak Squad was also pretty good in that sense, just with cooler powers.

It's the best Kirby game

I'm glad you think so, but I don't believe there's such a thing.

It's a lot like Great Cave Offensive on Kirby Super Star, but with a significantly larger map and using a slightly more traditional Kirby style engine rather than the Kirby Super Star / Kirby's Return to Dreamland / Kirby Triple Deluxe style. It's sort of in between really.

It's a little hard to learn your way around at first, but once you get into it, the game really picks up.

That's good, but I haven't gotten around to Triple Deluxe yet.

Got my $20 card. Anything I should get along with Kirby?

It's one of the best Kirby games IMO. The backtracking can be a bit annoying I suppose, but the warp points are well staggered. Probably what I like the most about it is the fact that it's truly 100% nonlinear. You can complete the areas in whatever order you want, and if you are getting board of one area, you can leave it and explore a different area! Some of the chests are hidden rather deviously, and the collectibles are rather satisfying.

More villains need to be protagonists. BIS proves it can work.
Ridley, Ganondorf, Fawful, Bowser, and Dimentio all for their own games!

Already have that.

It's okay. It's not as good as 64, Canvas Curse, or Return to Dream Land.

It's one of the most nonlinear games I've ever played.
