Nice quality footage. Just look at the high level of detail, everywhere. And all running at 60fps. No matter which is your favorite console you really can't deny that this looks great.

It looks stunning. I can only imagine if it were closer to the X1/PS4 graphics.

if it were closer to X1 graphics it wouldn't be running 1080p

That couldn't be done on PS3/360 Maybe an gimped version of MK Arcade GP13.

I thought generations weren't determined by graphical ability but just the timeframe the console is released? If that is true, why are you arguing that the graphical fidelity of certain games provides a basis for calling the Wii U "next gen" or not?

Cause a lot of people like to group the Wii U with last gen consoles instead of including it with PS4/X1. I think MK8 will be the game to prove Wii U can pull off 'next gen' graphics that weren't possible last gen.

I think the vast majority of game developers out there would say otherwise. It's a current gen system with last gen specs

I can understand people liking the art style and that's fine. But on a technical level, I'm not seeing anything being done that couldn't be done on the x360 or PS3. Arguably, it doesn't even look as good as racing games on those platforms like GT5:

or Forza 4

If MK8 were rendered in 1080p I could maybe see why people thought it was at least a decent step up from the x360/PS3 but it isn't. It is almost certainly being rendered in 720p which isn't very impressive at all seeing as how even GT5 was rendered at 1280x1080 if you dropped the AA.

If that were true, it remains to be seen. Because there's nothing about MK8 that looks like it's beyond the capabilities of the x360 or PS3.

How are the graphics impressive?

This could easily be done on the 360 or PS3.

The new Zelda game makes a better case for showing the Wii-U's graphics than this does.
