Nintendo is pushing Splatoon LIKE CRAZY.

I think the only game Nintendo has possibly given more screen time than Splatoon at E3 is maybe Smash.

It's on Treehouse AGAIN right now.

Yes. And if this is a $50 or $60 title, then I think it's going to be a huge flop.

That's what they're expecting. Honestly, I would have liked to have seen them give even 10% of the support Splatoon's being given to W101 last year, but I digress. Everywhere I look, it's Splatoon. I don't really like it from what I've seen, but I can't fault their effort in pushing it on people.

lT'S NOT A "SHOOTER." This is pretty much Nintendo's Ratchet & Clank.

It sounds like you haven't ever played R&C. Yeah, it may be a little inaccurate to simply call it a shooter, but calling it "Nintendo's Ratchet & Clank" is completely absurd.

You spend literally 99% of the game shooting a gun and there's little to no platforming. It's a shooter. Nothing wrong with that.

Depends on the content though, E3 has not been an event to show the entire hand of a Video Game, could be an eShop title or could be a retail title packed full of content

First person shooter = shooter
Splatoon = third person shooter
Therefor, Splatoon != shooter

That's what I'm thinking is going through people's heads when I hear not a shooter. Third person shooter is totally a genre though, and that's what Splatoon totally is.

As someone who hasn't truly enjoyed an fps since Perfect Dark (aside from Borderlands and Fallout but they are really rpg heavy) I think this looks phenomenal.

Third person shooter also falls under the "shooter" umbrella. There's even a number of games that let you switch between both modes.
