Nintendo Network Question?

#1KillaJammPosted 7/2/2014 1:18:54 AM
About 2 days ago I purchase a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle, but after playing for a day ive noticed that the game pad is faulty, so after work today I am going to return the console in exchange for a new one, only question is as I have downloaded a few games from the e shop, is there going to be anyway I can get them back? Problem is ive already wiped the console assuming it will be like my xbox and as long as im logged into my account I will be able to download them again?:/

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you will be able to download them straight away from your new console as games aren't tied to an account system like the ps3 or xbox.

Nintendo will have proof of your purchases from your nintendo network id but I think you should ring customer support and they will make it so you can download your purchased games again. Sucks I know :(

Check with Nintendo customer support first and take a note of the serial code of your current WiiU. From my understanding, they should be able to delink your NNiD with the faulty WiiU so you can register it with the new one. At that point, you should be able to redownload the games you bought.

There's a bit of mis-information going about whenever people ask about this. It's not that your purchases are tied to the console, it's that your NNiD is tied to the console. To some it's the same thing, but the difference is that the NNiD can be transferred if need be. Hopefully later down the line Nintendo will actually trust us enough to be able to delink our own NNiDs.

you can transfer all the stuff but i think that wiping your wii u and deleting your NNID also deletes your purchases
