I Googled

Saw http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classic_Controller

Used search bar still not too sure

Am planning to play xenoblades chronicles on wii U

Just to confirm
1. Use sensor bar
2. Use old wii remote/nunchuck
3. Attach old wii classic controller (non pro) to wiimote/nunchuck

If this is true i will buy the old wii remote/nunchuck

Thank you in advance

Plug classic controller to Wii mote.

Turn on Wii U

Click on the "Wii" icon to enter "Wii Mode"

Play Xenoblade.

If you are using a Classic Controller with a game that supports it, you don't even need the sensor bar, as the Classic Controller can be used to navigate the Wii U and Wii menus.

Thats great news.just realise my basic wii u bundle does not have the sensor bar :(

Now i just need to find out if xenoblade chronicles is one of those games that does not need sensor bar to use classic wii controller

Xenoblade doesn't need the sensor bar. Pretty sure I've never made use of it when playing my copy.

The gamepad's camera area acts as a sensor bar anyway, no?

Yes it can, but not until you get into wii mode.

I could be wrong but don't you have to point the Wii remote at the TV to even get into Wii mode? I know I haven't been able to get in without that, not even by using the joysticks on my classic controller pro.

I'm pretty sure you do need the sensor bar.
