Except the GPU isn't good either.

It is true though, games made specifically for the WiiU can be great but third parties struggle to get WiiU to perform as well as PS3 and Xbox360. Given WiiU on paper looks better than than either of those much older consoles it is presumably necessary to program differently to work around the CPU issues?

Don't know, Nintendo's own games looks just as good as anything I've seen on Xbox360 and PS3

Which is why it's so bad. The 360 was already seven years old when the Wii U was released.

To that same end, though, the best games on ps4 and xb1 only look slightly better than their last gen counterparts and thats IF a lot of them actually look better at all. Apart from that, how much better do you really need 3d world, kart, zelda and smash to look than they do right now?

It looks like developers are still working up to getting PS4 and Xbox1 to shine. WiiU is powerful enough for what Nintendo want to do with it which is why it is great for Nintendo games and not much else which is kind of in my initial point.
