Interested in Buying a WiiU But Still Have a Few Questions

#1GreatCongratsbyPosted 7/21/2014 2:03:37 PM
-What is the cheapest price out there for a new WiiU? I see now there's different models-is 32gb worth it I don't plan to use the virtual console very much (on wii only had Kirby 64 and Star Fox 64)?

-I know there's bundles that come with games but some of them are special edition versions of the console and accessories and I would really only want a black WiiU with a black Gamepad and a black controller too.

-I am aware the bundles are in the $300 range and that they come with a game included (so it's more like $250 then) but I really don't want to pay that much for the console alone though.

(I paid $150 for my 3DS XL this past Christmas which I felt was good, and I'm curious if there's any good deals like that for the WiiU too)

Thanks in advance, everyone.

You can get a refurbished U for about 200. Add in Mario Kart which gives you a free game if you register it before the 31st, and that's two games right there.

Was about to post this:

It's technically not new but it's from Nintendo so you can be pretty sure of it's quality. Best deal out there in my opinion.

More and more mid-to-high-quality games are being released digital-only lately, so having more storage space is always a good thing. The Wii U accepts SD cards and USB memory options though, so you can choose which way you'd like to store your digital games if you choose to purchase more of them this gen.

The ZombiU bundle features a plain black Wii U and gamepad, if you were interested in that game in a bundle and can find it. I believe the Mario Kart bundle also features a plain black Wii U and gamepad.

I would say 32GB is worth it. 8GB is almost nothing. Over the next ~4 years it'll fill up slowly.

Get Wind Waker HD Bundle.

Would it better to wait until say, Black Friday, for any future deals? Also, could there be a Smash bundle too that comes with a gamecube controller adapter/amiibo possibly?

But darn, I'm not the biggest MK fan (have MK wii and it's alright, but MK8 is a game with solid online, it looks) but if I can get Wind Waker HD and MK8....darn

Well...I could buy MK8 and register it without getting a WiiU yet, or wait, can I do that?

If you wait till the holidays, Wii U bundles will fall to 250, with game packed in.

Do you have a Club Nintendo account?

If so then yeah. You have until July 31st to register MK, August 31st to get the game code and sometime in September to use it I believe.

Oh and another question: How long will the WiiU's lifespan be? For Nintendo it might seem like they could drop it with something new in the near future, but they may also keep it going for a long time if it's profitable (with Smash, Zelda WiiU games, and more, that would seem more likely).

Well wait:
-I got my wii in 2008 when Brawl came out, 2 years after it released
-It's been around 2 years since the WiiU came out

so if there's still a good 3-4-5 years with it, okay that's good
