Anyone saying Wii U is either (1. Misinformed (2. Outright dumb (3. Stealth trolling (4. All of the freaking above. For those here that actually know their history, the correct answer is N64. Wii U despite its struggles has already eclipsed the N64 in terms of total third party support. Then you have to factor in all the newer non-VC eShop releases coming in not only from Nintendo but many Indies, that will be coming to the Wii U for the foreseeable future, something that many of the non-supportive -non Wii U owning crowd knows NOTHING about!

Are you really that dumb?

Let's rattle off just a handful of N64 3rd party games that more or less made the system...

Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie
Ogre Battle 64
Mischief Makers
DK 64
Harvest Moon
Conker's Bad Fur Day

And these are top tier titles...I can name plenty more if you need me to.

Name 5 Wii U third party titles that are as relevant to this era as those games were to that era.

This is probably the most pointless thread I've ever seen, and I'm really not trying to be a jerk.

Most of those listed are 2nd party games, published by Nintendo. I get what you are doing, but dig deeper into the N64 library.

Ah true, but to be fair the Wii U doesn't have a 2nd party developer anywhere near where Rare was at in their heyday.

Goemon's Great Adventure
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
Snowboard Kids 1+2
Castlevania 64
Cruis'n Games
Gauntlet Legends
Vigilante 8
Turok Games

Here's a few more 3rd party games.

Oh please........compared to:

Batman Arkham City Armored Edition
Batman Arkham Origins
Sonic Lost World
Darksiders II
Resident Evil Revelations
Zombi U
NBA 2K13
Rayman Legends
Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge
Injustice: Gods Among Us
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition
Mass Effect 3 Special Edition
Assassin Creed III
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Warriors Oroichi 3 Hyper
Call of Duty Black Ops II
Call of Duty Ghosts

Those are the majority of the highest profile Wii U third party games In addition to whats coming out 2nd half of this year:

Hyrule Warriors
Bayonetta 1 Wii U edition
Bayonetta 2
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
Watch Dogs

Seriously, the dwindling third party retail scene for Wii U still blows away that of the N64 3rd party support on the whole, Rare or no Rare......The other developers of those games have proven they are just as talented if not in some cases moreso than what Rare had under the Nintendo umbrella........Thats including the original Star Wars Rogue Squadron, Castlevania Legacy of Darkness and Killer Instinct Gold for N64, both of which you clearly forgot about, lol! :-P

Honestly I'd easily take the list I posted a page back over this, it's much more varied and a lot of these are bad ports, while the N64 titles are generally exclusive or at least the best version. Also Hyrule Warriors is Nintendo-published. If you allow games Nintendo published but a third-party developed, N64 gains Mischief Makers, Sin and Punishment, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis, though that's kind of silly.

Wii U may have more of a chance if you add in indie games.

It's sad that people can't admit that the WiiU 3rd Party support is the worse yet. Aside from the few ports and exclusive in its first year, the WiiU has all but lost all 3rd party support. Again, what 3rd party titles are you looking forward to over the next couple years on the Wii U?

The N64 did have:
Turok 1,2,3
WCW/NWO Revenge
Wrestle mania
Mortal Kombat
Rogue Squadron
Castlevania 64
Buck Bumble
Resident Evil 2
Beetle Adventure Racing
Sports games
Glover
Ogre Battle
San Fransisco Rush
World Driver Championship
Hybrid Heaven
Tony Hawk

People are forgetting about sports games and movie tie-ins when they mention N64. The Wii U would dream of having Sports games.

Even with that big list, there are tons of titles you missed.

The eshop alone has more than that.

The minute the wii U launched, it had more 3rd party games than that 'big list'.
