could wiiU hypothetically uscale wii games like dolphin?

It could but console developers are extremely lazy when it comes to backwards compatibility. They just do the absolute minimum. Which seems dumb to me since 4-5 man teams that only do it in their spare time can make emulators that work very well on PC (which is much harder since there's so many different types of hardware, software, possible sources for errors etc. etc.). It seems like it'd be worth it just to have a few employees focus exclusively on that.

Imagine if the PS3 launched with a PS2 emulator that made all the games look like they do on pcsx2 in 1080p. It would have beat the wii last gen. I would have bought one and I hate sony and the PS3/4. Nintendo/Sony/MS are all dumb though.

Hypothetically, it could. It has the horsepower to do so. It won't do it because it would require a major system overhaul and development of a new way for the Wii U to process Wii graphics that is also compatible with whatever calls the games needed from the Wii. It's a pretty big mess, similar to emulation but with the advantage of knowing how the Wii works inside out and being able to reuse or modify any Wii code with no copyright issues. Emulator devs need to rewrite a lot of code that does the same stuff in different ways to avoid copyright.

so if the wiiU ever gets hacked in its lifetime the consensus seems to be it'd be possible? Ive been playing through SS again and it'd be nice to play the game without jaggies.

Possible, but if it were to happen, don't expect that 100% BC outside of Wii mode.

Possibly, but there's also a possibility the performance would be very bad.

As has been said, the Wii U contains the necessary Wii hardware for backwards compatibility. Put a Wii game into the Wii U and it'll turn into a Wii.

If the Wii components in the Wii U were clocked higher, it'd be relatively easy to improve certain aspects, the framerate for example. But otherwise you'd have to turn to emulation, and emulation is very demanding.

The absolute minimum is nothing, which is what PlayStation 4 and Xbox One do.

This. The Wii U is backwards compatible unlike it's anti-consumer competitors.
