Nintendo literally released Twilight Princess on the GameCube one month after the Wii version. If that's not a cheap tactic, I don't know what is.

You realize the Game Cube was the old console, the Wii was the new one, right? This is like Smackdown vs Raw 2007-2011 coming out for PS3 and PS2. Or Guitar Hero 3, Aerosmith, Metallica and Smash Hits on PS3 and PS2. Or Rock Band and Rock Band 2 on PS3 and PS2. Or Tony Hawk 3 and 4 on PS2 and PS1. This isn't an uncommon thing, and a near simultaneous launch on the new and old consoles is actually great.

And we all knew the non-wiggle GC version of TP was coming, it wasn't a secret. The fact that Nintendo didn't hold TP hostage on the Wii was pretty amazing IMO.

Point is Nintendo is no "White Knight". Hell Pokemon games are always released in pairs. Claim its for making friends and trading all you want, but we all can see past that PR bull**** and that's its for nothing more than money.

You know what would be amazing? If people would stop being god damn stupid and purchasing these re-releases, especially at full retail price, and start demanding brand new QUALITY games and IPs from these companies, then idiotic topics like this wouldn't be rampant, and people like me wouldn't be on these forums *****ing about the idiocy of those of you supporting this crap.

Man, you guys are seriously getting pathetic when it comes to these topics.

There should be a tour guide for the Wii U board, where people pay ten bucks and get to see all the exotic Nintendo fans in their natural habitat.

Yea, lol at Nintendo being the "White Knight" of gaming. They regularly give the middle-finger to gamers just as much as Sony or Microsoft. Take a look at all of the things listed above, and also consider the fact that over the last few gens of consoles they have managed to drive away literally every single major third-party dev to the point of it being considered financial suicide to port your games onto Nintendo systems. When the two largest publishers around both pull every title they have and announce they have no plans to release games for your system that should tell you something. You can blame EA and Activision for being "evil" all you want, but it is ultimately Nintendo's fault for not properly marketing their system and continually releasing under-performing hardware. Handhelds are the only reason they even still exist as a game company, that and the fact that they have at least managed to continue producing good 1st party games but even that area has started to fall behind...

They're still pretty much White Knight in comparison to the other companies though. It's just petty that you're trying to paint them like "as bad as" certain companies when it's not even remotely close.

We have examples like Nintendo choosing not to include DLC and microtransactions for objects in their multi-million selling games like Animal Crossing when it would undoubtedly be more lucrative for less effort than whole courses DLC in Mario Golf. Whereas other companies utilize their biggest selling games(CoD, Gran Turismo, Assassins Creed, Forza, etc.) as DLC and microtransaction store fronts for maximum revenue.

At least Sony had the decency to not bundle TLOU with a badass looking limited edition PS4 like those jerks at Nintendo did with WWHD! :P

Hell no. Nintendo is just as bad as the rest of them. Why is Nintendo the only one who ties digital purchases to the hardware instead of the account if they're such a white knight?

How about Sony not letting u play your PS3 games on the shiny new PS4?

Yeah screw Gamefreak for pointing a gun to our heads and forcing us to buy two versions of the same game that offers little to differentiate the two.

each company has its issues, though i would personaly choose region-free over backwards compatibility.

buying (or keeping) a last gen system to play your older games is quite a bit cheaper than buying a second current gen system to play games which werent released in your country.
