Can younger kids be hardcore gamers?

A hardcore gamer enjoys all systems most genres of games. Age don't matter.

Fanboys of any one console, FPS dudebros, PC elitists I don't consider hardcore gamers.

This, otherwise they're just a "hardcore X fan/player".

I've never seen an age qualifier in relation to "hardcore" at any rate.

Guess I'm not a "hardcore" gamer then, since I'm all three of those.

Glad I'm not like you guys.
Congratulations to Germany for winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup

If manchildren can, I don't see why children couldn't

Back in the days of NES, SNES, & Genesis when we were the younger kids, we were hardcore gamers. In those days it was about Contra, Megaman, Streets of Rage, even Wolf3D was from back then. Casuals like Candy Crush weren't developed to cater to us.
Why does jesus need to change skills? Resurrect is pretty OP in HC. Even with the 3 day CD. - wildog2006

My sig will never happen, but it would be awesome if it did.

If you're a fanboy of all the systems, that makes you a fanboy of gaming, which (assuming you actually do the game playing part) does make you a hardcore gamer.

Also what do you mean "Glad I'm not like you guys"? The only thing you could have gleamed from my post is what definition I have attached to the word "hardcore", absolutely nothing about myself or whether being hardcore is a good or bad thing.

If you are a game hobbyist I think that qualifies one as a "hardcore gamer."
