I wished nintendo games would be more mature

hear me out, I'm not referring mature as in blood & gore, nudity, and cussing. What I mean by mature is their games should be more sophisticated and have adult themes such as loss, betrayal, love, war, and many others. Now do I expect games like mario to have these themes? No, but games like zelda, metroid, fire emblem, etc. should have them, so they can become more immersive. Nintendo has proven in the past that they can do mature games that don't rely on the above like majora's mask, but I feel as though they need to make more of these games. If they did this, they could gained back the hardcore crowds.

Is Metroid's gun part of his armor or is he a cyborg like Data from Star wars?

Eh... while Zelda could benefit from some mature themes like that, I wouldn't expect Nintendo to ever go through with it. The Zelda series was inspired by a childhood desire to explore, and that might not go hand-in-hand with adult themes as such.

I all for that, as long as it doesn't get in the way of good gameplay.

Well I guess it's a good thing that Fire Emblem has betrayal, loss, war etc.

it seems as though you just all games to be the same, realistic, dark and gritty.

not true at all, there are plenty of games that are colorful, while having mature themes. One example, I can think of right now is the kingdom hearts series.

Those aren't what you call Mature Themes.
