Wii 2. Casuals probably think Wii U is just an addon.
Miami Heat not champions of 2014.

I don't really like any of those titles, but I believe the Wii U needed some number to help define that the console was a new entry and not just a new facelift. Out of the list, I'd go with Wii 2, but I think something like Wii˛ (Wii Squared) looks and sounds better.

Nintendo U (NWU)
guaranteed to meet or exceed the quality standards of the leading brand.

Generic new name > Nintendo U > Wii 2 > Super Wii.

"Super Wii" is as close as Nintendo should have let themselves get to keeping the Wii name without adding a number, as it would have been immediately distinguishable as the name of a new console (to most people).

"Up" (Ultimate Player)
"Padder" (to emphasis the gamepad)
"Toplap" (the console is actually a lot like a laptop. No TV required)
"Tapblet" (it's pretty much a tablet/laptop hybrid plus sounds more original than Toplap)
"WU" (pronounced "woo". WU means Wii or "We're" Ultmate)
"GeeP" (Gamepad Player, or Play Gamer (double reference to Game & Wario) or Game Player)
"Super High Def Nintendo Player" (SHDNES)

I'd like this kind of name personally, but it has two issues:

1. People would read it and speak it as "Wii two" all the time anyway, and hearing it called "Wii squared" could confuse them.

2. It's a little bit difficult to write ˛. It's easy for us of course - we know how to use alt codes or character maps or whatever - but most people struggle with any character that's not on a basic keyboard layout.

It'd still be better than Wii U though.
