Why was Hiroshi Yamauchi such a d*** to 3rd party developers?

And now third parties are dying off again because high development costs and shovelware are resulting in poor sales.

Totally Nintendo's fault.

This would never have happened if Nintendo simply gotten out of way.

Who said anything about 1983?

Most Kickstarter games have budgets in the range of hundreds of thousands.
Shovelware games, millions.
"Big budget" games, tens of millions.
AAA games like CoD, Destiny and GTA, hundreds of millions when you include the marketing.

Even a cheap failure is expensive these days.
