I feel amiibo will turn things around for the N.

the market is pretty saturated with these small toys. to me it feels like sony move, just way too late in the game, for something tacked on that really does nothing and adds nothing to the gaming experience, and i think its probably going to end up the same level of failure. i think a new skylanders or disney infinity is coming out later this year around the time amibo comes out too, which wont help. if it succeeds that great good for them but i would be pretty surprised.

I don't see it making a difference for people interested in them as toys. There are already plenty of Nintendo toys on the market that kids would actually enjoy playing with.
Likewise I don't see it really appealing to people who are interested in it for video game aspect. Essentially is an expensive form of DLC with it only unlocking some minor content.
