How are Ubisoft and Nintendo any different?

When Shiggy is saying they only care about the core, as is Ubisoft.

Then we hear Ubi wants to make $60 customers into $200 through paid DLC after a product is released, and Nintendo is releasing dlc for MK8 that gives you new courses through a modified season pass system.

So how are these two companies different and why should one be bashed while the other is praised?

Nintendo exercises quality control practices to a reasonable extent.

I guess because Nintendo is giving you a massive amount of content for a cheap price while Ubi is trying to milk people.

If they're releasing $12 worth of DLC over a year on arguably one of their biggest games the entire generation, they're going to have a very hard time making $200 per person.

They aren't any different. They both want your money and offer a product/service in exchange. Whether or not one considers the product/service provided worthwhile is entirely anecdotal. I for one, find very little value in Nintendo products. That doesn't mean others can't or won't enjoy them. Same could be said for any developer/publisher, EA, Ubisoft or whoever.

It seems you need to review both the definition of "shovelware" as well as the difference between "more" and "any"

If Wii Music isn't shovel ware you can't really say Ubisoft games are.
