And what would you think if they did?

F*** no. That's like a bigger middle finger to all of us who bought one since launch...or even bought it all.

because they have a history of doing so with the DS lite ---> DSi.

Hence the "bigger". It's not as bad as the 3ds upgrade, just because I was going to buy an XL anyway XD. Good thing I didn't buy one. And the 3DS has been around more than the WiiU.

Also GB>GBC was a revision not a successor. That thing got some notable exclusives.

So? Nintendo has a history of a lot of things that they have later changed.

Also, I don't believe the DSi's increased CPU was used for games, was it?

Also, it really wouldn't be a slap in the face, most games would still come out for the old model, only games that would only work on the new model wouldn't. And by the very nature of peripherals or features only in particular versions, that would be what happens.

If anything, it's kind if a rip off to those who paid extra for the new model.

No, it was a successor. In the brand line, but still a successor.

There were DSi exclusive games. Not many unless you count the digital shop but they did exist.

New 3DS is mostly used for eye tracking and not games supposedly. It shouldn't have that many exclusives either.

Edit: looking over the information again they have said there will be software both exclusive and non-exclusive benefiting from the boost. They have more in development that is exclusive or benefits from the New 3DS.
