I suggest you switch the difficulty to World Class 'cause there's very little difference between Pro and WC. When I first started playing this game, I found Pro difficulty too steep. So, I moved straight to WC and got used to that difficulty quickly. --- "Take your best shot, Flatlander woman". JC Denton.
Initially, I adjusted the sliders to give me a slight advantage. I made changes in "marking (CPU - 35, Me - 65)", "Passing speed (CPU 35, Me - 60)" and "Running Speed (CPU - 45, Me - 55)".
With those settings, I didn't too big an advantage but it was enough to make the game a little easier to understand and get used to. As I got better, I reduced the advantage until the sliders were back to default settings. --- "Take your best shot, Flatlander woman". JC Denton.
You need to increase the AI's shot error rating instead. On Pro and higher difficulties, the AI scores easily past your keeper regardless of how good he is. You just need to position your defenders in a way such that you block the AI's direct route to goal. --- "Take your best shot, Flatlander woman". JC Denton.
