Silent Hill games aren't supposed to be fun even if they are video games. They're supposed to be super serious, arsty fartsy visual novels recycling the same gameplay mechanics over and over to instill artificial, lazy attempts at "fear" and "that Silent Hill feeling" that everybody has a subjective definition of.

That is all.
Said account is my alt and that post is meant to act as a bashing towards the numerous people in the fandom who take the games, their art direction, stories, the amount of work put into them, immersion, etc. so seriously that they forget that they're playing a video game.
So when you bring up ideas like trying to tweak combat so it isn't sloppy or basically anything that breaks away from recycling the gameplay of the first three games over and over (which ends up as people crying "b-b-b-b-but it's not supposed to be Resident Evil! You're supposed to run away!", you'll hear of some people bashing such an idea. There are some people who take the concept of immersion in a video game too far to the point where they don't want gameplay enhancements or otherwise it "ruins" the immersion factor despite immersion always being a subjective matter anyway.
Then you have the idiots who cry their asses off about this game being canon acting as if it's going to somehow ruin the storyline of the other games when:
A. It's a spinoff and you nobody has a gun pointed to your head forcing you to buy it.
B. Just because a spinoff is canon doesn't mean it has an effect on the overall narrative of the series especially since most the SH games have been independent tales anyway. Resident Evil 0's intro mentions the Sheena Island incident in Resident Evil: Survivor which effectively makes that game canon to the series. However, outside of that one mention,Survivor is never once referenced or mentioned again with nothing from its story seemingly having any effect on other storylines in the series. So it's a perfect example showing that you can have technically canon installments that don't ruin anything story related.
In fact, I hope they keep making spin offs. I hope they make a SH kart racing game, a SH MMO, a SH fighting game, a SH, and even a SH puzzle game just to piss off all the whiny fans who have to make a doomsday scenario about every single, mother****ing SH release.
I can understand being concerned about the game quality and Konami's handling of the series. But the other half of the problem for why the series will never be incredibly popular is the incredibly diverse, unpleasable fanbase which rivals Final Fantasy fans in sheer lunacy.
