Can't give flea bath

#1fluffygoddessPosted 10/22/2011 4:33:40 PM
My cat got fleas as soon as I moved her in. I click on her to give her a flea bath but when my sim reaches for her she suddenly stops and waves her hands and will not give the cat a bath. My boyfriend sim can't do it either. Why can't I rid her of the vermin and if I can't do it, will they go away in 2 days when the negative moodlet goes away? Thanks!

Well, it seems that I can't bathe any of my pets. My people sims act like they are going to pick the animal up but then stop and wave their hands. I also cannot complete the action "bathe pet" and my dog is very stinky. No thought bubbles pop up, so I have no clue....

that happened to me the first few times I tried to give my dog a bath, but I changed where the bath was placed (it has a 2x2 floor space in front of it) and this seemed to work

Well I figured out the bathing problem in the space of a few ticks. You need to move the bathtub in order to bathe pets. It doesn't work if the tub is against a wall. That happened to me so I moved it once space over so there's room on the front and back of the tub and it worked. Here's a screenie:

Wow, someone answered while I was typing all that : /

When I couldn't give my cat a bath I raised my friendship with the cat and then it worked.

Locke Strife, that worked! i was able to bath the cat finally, so this is a bug in the game, i hope EA fix this in the future because a lot of people wouldn't know to move the bathtub from the walls so they can wash their pets, you don't even need to be best friends with your animals either to wash them.

Glad it worked for you. It looks silly to have a bathtub in the middle of a bathroom so I hope that gets fixed soon.

I had the problem with my dog. So instead of having the sim selected and giving the pet a bath, I selected the dog, and had the dog pick the choice to have a flea bath and it worked just fine, with the bath against a wall.
