Fire?

#1ThorninatorPosted 12/6/2012 12:35:24 AM
Hi

Is it just my game or is the fire generally not effective as it was in FC2? If I throw a molotov or shoot a flare it will burn a few meters at best and go out, I can't light a fire with the fire arrows at all unless they direct hit someone.

Anyone know if there is any mods or such that will increase it?

Cheers

Fire arrows don't work and molotovs are hit & miss. No mods yet but I'm sure a patch will fix what's broken.

Yeah it won't burn an entire field like in FC2, though it can be amusingly unpredictable. It was never THAT useful in FC2 though, just fun to flush out enemies with the flare gun.

I guess you could defend it by saying that FC3 is set on jungly islands, whereas FC2 is often set in dusty savannahs near deserts, though there were jungles too.

Yes it can. The mission where you have to burn the pot farm has 7 crops and I used 1 each for most of them. It's not as effective as FC2 (due to how random it is to actually get them to burn) but when it works it will burn a fair bit.

Yeh On that mission it only took one molotov for each field but everywhere else it seems to be really ineffective, I was on one of the towers earlier and there was an outpost pretty close by so I fired about 10 flares at them, when I got close enough all was there was a few black spots on the ground with all enemies alive.

I'm not sure what you guys are using to make fire arrows, but all of mine have burned bright and strong.

Fire arrows don't even set people on fire.

Also During co-op mode, I am unable to start fires at all, I can molotov a bush or tree and it will be out within 5-10 seconds

The first fire I started (by accident) the fire burned through the entire outpost I had no idea there was fire effects like that in this game got burned alive, the second time however it burned in a small area spread but not through the whole outpost.
