If you're making maps in 10 minutes you're making bad maps that don't play well W/O AI. Any of the good maps out there realistically take a MINIMUM of ten hours to make. Making decent AI would likely add at least 50% to that total.
Also bare in mind that multiplayer maps are generally small portions of singleplayer levels. To make a good singleplayer level with working AI would take weeks if not months.

I'm unclear on what the TC is asking. Do you mean bots, or AI to make single player maps?
Bots I could care less about, they just get boring incredibly fast. AI on the other hand is something I think should of been added a long time ago. I really hate excuses like "We can't because the AI will get stuck on maps that aren't thought out". I don't care about the 95% of crappy maps out there that would use it wrong, I care about the ones that are actually well made. Give me the tools, I'll make it work(and I know others will too).
"Bots" usually refers to multiplayer stand ins used for normal multplayer game types, such as capture the flag. It can also mean AI enemies too I suppose, it's just not used like that often, hence why I was confused. Now that I reread it, it does sound like he meant the ladder, so my mistake.
