Hardcore Mode

I think they should add a Hardcore mode like in Fallout. Then aside from health you would also have to worry about thirst, hunger, and fatigue. I think it would be pretty cool to find clean water sources and hunt for food along with everything else there is to do in the game.

What do you guys think?

I'd love that, but I don't think they're gonna make the game THAT much of an RPG. I wish they would, though.

Eh, this is Far Cry, not Minecraft or Fallout. It should be played as such. Don't get me wrong. I'm not dissing fatigue or hunger in games in general. I just think it should be confined to the appropriate games.

I partially agree, this game's main focus point is to strategize and ambush a seemingly overwhelming enemy base using the few tools at hand. With this being said, I wants me branch whips back, dammit!

Also, you don't have to necessarily "starve", but maybe you can have a "stamina" bar, like what was in MGS 3? You can have superb aiming with a full stomach, but as you get hungry your aiming will start to sway and you'll get fatigued quicker from sprinting. After your stamina has reached a low point, your stomach grumbles and nearby enemies will hear it and walk over to check it out.

I'd be fine with the idea if it were completely optional. But they'd have to devote resources to that and it would take away from other areas.

@OnePolishGuy: At least we can throw rocks again!!

^I know, isn't it freaking awesome!

I have a hundred funny stories about those rocks...now with a physics engine, I'll get a thousand more :)

I don't remember, could you use the branches in MP? I know you could use the rocks.

Wow. I thought more people would be into having this as an optional difficulty level. I don't understand how that wouldn't pertain to this type of game.

Thanks for the input.

I'm totally open to it being an optional mode provided it doesn't take away from any other modes.

Usmovers...yes, you were limited to 4 per life. I believed they disappeared after a while, and were gone when you died.
