Vehicles are confirmed to NOT be in multiplayer!

I've been on the official forums quite a bit since they said "no vehicles". It's nearly unanimous amongst fans, we're all unhappy with their decision. There are some people who don't care one way or another because they only get the game for the SP but I haven't seen ONE person who plays the MP say this was a good choice.

I've also seen just about EVERYBODY complain about all the garbage on the HUD. At this point I'd be surprised if they don't clean up the HUD and find a way to add vehicles to MP. Nobody is happy with the choices they're making. Some people are indifferent but nobody is saying "hey, I think they're doing the right things".

Yeah, but does Ubi have a history of responding to fan criticism (not rhetorical I honestly don't know)?

God, I hope you're right!

Unfortunately no. They have a horrible history of listening to fans. I'm a BIG fan of many of there franchises (Far Cry, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell to an extent). The period before most of these games releases is almost always filled with fan outcry about some feature that should or shouldn't be there. Not ONCE have I seen Ubisoft cave in. I'm fairly certain they just look at charts full of numbers about the most popular games of the time and copy and paste them into there own games.

Discourages teamplay? Yes, when you get a bunch of ten-year-old playtesters who don't give a sweet crap about what game they're actually playing, or the history of the games behind it, whose level of interest peaks at "oh em jee!! iTz a gaem wit gunz in it HAW!!" and can't handle playing multiplayer for any game without getting 27 kills in the first two minutes and seeing unlockable trinkets and shinies pop up on the screen every four seconds...

DAMN IT!

BF3 was ruined by the same Hot Pocket cramming Mtn Dew guzzling casual numbskull filth that it seems Ubi is determined to pander to. And why shouldn't they? EA put the pliers around DICE's balls and churned out the codified crap that is BF3-- and made assloads. Doesn't matter than the fans of that franchise since 2002 detest it.

I guess Ubi looked at that strategy and adopted it for their own use.

Why?! Why in God's name cant devs at least attempt to keep some modicum of originality in their work these days?

I'm sorry if this rant of mine seems a bit heated, but I am so absolutely sick of this trend. Game after game, franchise after franchise is just being ruined by this asinine, desperate quest to either be cod, beat cod, or match cod. I'm just so heart-sunk about this. This was more or less the last game I was looking forward to before making a decision to pretty much abandon gaming, (bloated, polluted, $25B annual milk-session it has become). I'm not writing FC3 off completely... I'm just dreading hearing more now, when before I couldn't wait to see more news. What's next? Market research has overwhelmingly determined that (derp) "the community" want subscription-based map packs?

The out lash on the official FC forums hasn't slowed down at all. I haven't seen anything like this for and Ubisoft game. Obviously this isn't any NEAR as big as the fan rage Bioware got for the Mass Effect 3 ending but they were able to get Bioware to fix it (to an extent) AFTER the games release.

Considering the substantially smaller expected sales FC will get next to ME the fan rage is right on par it seems to me. Next to nobody is defending the product as it stands and almost everybody wants change. I'm hoping the heat that Bioware got for their own atrocious decision is weighing heavily on Ubisoft.

I'm still killing people on Far Cry 2 and making a few new maps.Like a farewell to FC2 for all the good times we've had over the years. Other games come and go but Far Cry and the Editor community keep it going strong you can still get a few FC matches/Lobbies. And there are a few guys who still host regularly like "Justathang" and "Deception".
