If not this for GOTY then what?

I'm anxiously awaiting this game from Gamefly, but right now my GOTY is a toss up between Borderlands 2 and Sleeping Dogs. Both games I went into with zero expectations, and was blown away by the time I finished them. Wei Shen pulled on my heartstrings, perfect example of what a sandbox "crime drama" should be. Borderlands 2 just felt really unique...plus dat loot!

Sleeping Dogs was definitely a sleeper (herpderp) hit for me, I also had zero expectations and was blown away by just how fun the game was to play. Really awesome to find a gem like that.

Exactly, a very satisfying 1000/1000. The pacing was perfect, just enough foot chase/car chase/hand to hand/gun play (that isn't overused) to keep the gameplay fresh. The story kinda stuck with me too, I shed a nerd tear when Jackie died. And it took the crown away from GTA imo, which is quite a bold statement, but we'll see what V has to offer next year.

I went on holiday and didn't actually get around to finishing the game what with Dawnguard, Dishonored and Fifa coming out but I completely intend to get back to it and 1000g it. Such a fun game. I still prefer GTA, but it was very nice to play something so similar, that still didn't feel like a clone at all. GTAV just looks incredible (as usual).

Plus, I can't recall one game in recent history that has introduced me to a great band I never heard of (Stateless).

New GTAV trailer has me stoked!

I have to say, I wasn't massive on the soundtrack. It had some gems on the Kareoke, but for a band with a Roadrunner Records station, I did kinda expect more varieties of guitar music. Saints Row 2 nailed that. Shooting enemy pimps to Paramore and Taking Back Sunday then escorting hookers to Mastodon was fun as hell.

There are tons of possibilities for GOTY.

Diablo 3, Mass Effect 3,, Halo 4, The Walking Dead, Borderlands 2, Assassins Creed 3, Far Cry 3, Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2...etc, etc.

I laughed out loud at the first two choices. Good show, mate.

Pretty sure Halo 4 won't even get a nominee given the list.

You spelled Diablo 3 wrong.

Deciding GOTY for this year has never been easier. The Walking Dead is definitely my GOTY.
