I know its a joke but honestly the game does fall flat imo. The protagonists in this game have no personality and are thoroughly unlikable.

Jason does not have a strong personality for a protagonist IMO. He's still better than a silent protagonist though, and I do like it when he gets all hyped at cool time.

He sounds dull and therefore makes him lack charisma for me.

*very minor spoiler*

Every time he talks to that chick, he seems so whiny to me. He's like that character in the movie: The Hangover. The groom from part 1, who they gave minor camera times as opposed to everyone else. He talks kinda whiny but at least stands up for himself.

*end spoiler*

I think going a different direction with a voice actor or how they wanted the voice actor to sound might have made a big difference.

So the entire game falls flat because you aren't in love with a characters personality. But forget about the amazing 40 hour experience you have with the game. I dont like a character or two so This game is no good?!! That's sad.

Also I should say that I would not say protagonist(s) like you did. If you're referring to his friends, I just see them as plot devices to keep the story rolling.

The main attractions are the characters you meet on the island. For all the flaws I feel about the main character and the lack of care I have towards his friends, I think all the other characters are the games strong point.

So while you can say this game has failed to produce the next best protagonist in games, the other characters are really awesome.

Ignoring the troll topic, the enemy AI does suck in crytek games, it doesn't react directly to the player and is more or less omniscient instead.

Change the difficulty, I think the A.I can be pretty good at times. Also if you want to talk about Crytek games, they haven't made a Far Cry game since the very first on PC. They've moved on to the Crysis series.
