I can't figure out why but everytime i mess up the stealthy approach and have to engage a bunch of pirates in a shootout my heart kinda sinks and I feel all the fun drain out of the game.
Ive just finished the convoy rescue after the whole Buck/Keith underground temple snoozefest, I love sneaking around the jungle or even belting around it in a jeep powersliding through roadblocks.....there's just something about the shooting mechanics that makes me want to turn the game off anytime theres an open largescale firefight :/
However since you can wade through any firefight easily popping pirates like its a flimsy shooting gallery full of tin ducks....actually mebbe thats why they suck. There's very little weight or sense of impact in the gun battles.
All the visceral and primal fun of the game evaporates when youre just mowing down red blobs.
I also noticed that you can murder everyone in an outpost with a sniper rifle and they do not raise the alarm unless they actually see you, despite the ever growing pile of corpses with their melons popped.
Its like they want to make sure their buddies arent dying of natural causes before raising the alarm.
Gee, all these guys getting their heads blown off...I better go and search the bushes instead of reporting a problem.
