Enemies killing each other?

I jumped down from a roof in an outpost for an above take down. The bar nearly maxed out for one person to the point that he started shouting. I disappeared into a bush and was once again invisible when I notice that the camp has split and they are shooting each other.

Half the camp was cleared from friendly fire, just wondering what happened?
