First thought: Why haven't a stabbed this guy yet?
Second thought: Why am I running fetch quests for him, and not stabbing him?
Third thought: Come to think of it, why didn't I stab Citra either?

Unlike everyone else apparently, I was thinking the exact same thing. If you killed Buck from first meeting him, Keith wouldn't have been in any danger. Then it'd be a matter of asking around where Buck lives to find Keith. But then Again Jason isn't exactly the sharpest hammer in the shed.

Uh....how is Jason supposed to know that Buck is keeping Keith in his house? For all he knew Buck could have been keeping him a cargo container dozens of miles away from his house, so he would have been effed if he killed Buck. Note that Buck (according to his dialogue) also has a sidekick who'd gut Keith if Buck didn't report in.

Note that Jason never actually planned to let Buck live. Once he got Keith he would've killed him, seeing as he mumbles "I'm going to kill that mother****er" halfway through his arc.

Throw money at the bartender, it wouldn't be too hard to get info out of poor villagers. Also there is no sidekick, when you go to Buck's place, he's all alone. So he pretty much bluffs the whole time and Jason bites every time lol.

Thing is, all you know from your first meeting is:

- This guy has Keith, according to the crazy "CIA agent" (I'm waiting for that shoe to drop, still playing the game slowly).
- He regularly hangs out at the Badtown bar, indicating he has a routine and is likely stationed nearby.
- Seems to be working alone (It's not until later on that another character is mentioned with Keith, and frankly, I'm still sure he even existed).
- Due to his appearance, he is easily identifiable on an island.
- He's overconfident in his advantage.
- He's doesn't seem trustworthy at all.
- Most notably, he has provided you no indication Keith is even still alive.

Nothing from the first meeting indicates bending to his whims was the ideal way to get your friend back. Besides threats and physical coercion, Jason could have easily waited and tailed him home, or asked around Badtown and the Rakyat about him, or at the very least demanded proof of Keith's relative safety and, ya know, still-beating heart.

everyone seems to be forgetting the fact that the knife Buck wants is also the one that Citra wants. thats why Jason doesnt kill him. and Jason knows he wouldnt be able to save his friends/family without the help of the Tatau, Rakyat and Citra.

But again, how is Jason supposed to know there's no side-kick? Buck says there is, and if Jason effs up he (in his own mindset) dooms Keith. Some of us know for a fact that there's no sidekick, but there's very little Jason can do without risking Keith and making his end goal of saving everyone fail.

And it seems to me that Buck, for all his extravagance, is good at disappearing. Note that he always seems to disappear or go ahead of you and, story wise, his house is pretty far off the village without the game compression of the island. What villager would stalk one of Hoyt's men, who is known for his brutality, to a deserted part of the jungle? They're not stupid.

I'm glad my friends are more the "we have to play this madmans game" types rather than the "screw it. Kill him and sort it later" types. At least make an attempt to save Kieths poor virgin b-hole for Gods sake! The people who are saying to kill Buck straightaway are the same ones who chose "the bad ending". :)

On a side note....did anyone else notice that certain bloody handprints could only have been put on Kieths shirt....from behind!? Ow.

What makes you think his b-hole hasn't been deflowered already?

Sure. And it did happen...BUTT......had it happened at that point? All Buck had said was Kieth said his name was "AAAAaafffggrrkkkk". I'm just sayin....I'd like to think my friends would go...."well maybe his b-hole is okay....let's play along and potentially save his tender parts." I would hate to think they'd say "well....Bucks prolly mashed Kieths dirty onion ring into pudding....let's shoot this perv and see if we can't find him somehow...later...after a laugh...and a beer."
