Hi All,

I took the Steam sale opportunity to purchase Far Cry 3, amazing game, tons of fun, probably one of the best game this year, not sure why I didn't get it earlier >.<

I'm starting on Master Difficulty and I'm taking my time with everything, however, I'm curious about one thing, at which point of the story, that I can unlock all skills?

Basically, I want to get all my skills unlocked and then level up and pick the skills I want, and at that point, I will wonder the island and do side quests and collectibles, etc. Because i don't want to wander further into the story mission than I need to, just yet.

tl;dr
How soon (Story Mission) that all my skills are unlocked (Not counting the ones need to fulfill certain requirement, such as kill one Bull Shark, etc, just story mission related.)

Thanks!

You unlock skills at two points in the game. The first is relatively soon, maybe 5-6 missions in when you go to Citra's temple.

The second is after you visit Citra's temple for the third time, but that's about the halfway point through the game.

You'll earn plenty of XP to earn every single skill in the game. In fact, you'll be able to earn that amount of XP many times over.

I say play the story missions until you visit Citra's temple for the first time. At that point, you'll be able to unlock Jungle Run and Chained Takedown, Knife Throw, etc. which are the most important skills you'll need.

However, you may want to hold off on trying to do everything until you get the final skills unlocked, because that's when you get Heavy Beatdown, which is pretty important for stealth players.

Glitchwerks,

Thank you for the response! I would assume Heavy Beatdown will be unlocked after the 3rd visit to temple? which means half way through Story Mission? is that correct?

Thanks!

Yes, I think so. The final skills are unlocked after a specific incident, which I don't want to spoil for you. I may not have the number of visits to the temple right though.

It all depends on how you play though. If you're a pure sniper, then Heavy Beatdown isn't of much issue.

You can do almost anything you want after the first set of skills unlocks.

sweet thanks!

Yeah, the first set of skills sounds promising, and I'm a stealth character for this playthrough. I figured on Master, I probably gonna do really bad if I head on with everyone lol

Again, thanks!

Yeah. If you fire a weapon without a suppressor in a hostile area, people come running. The biggest threat is running into vehicles with turrets. Especially if it's armed with the HMG.

Which is why Jungle Run and the advanced takedown skills are so important. They allow you to dispatch enemies quietly and quickly.

Even with a suppressor, enemies can alert others in the area. So always know the area before you fire, because you will probably need to use cover when the others show up.
