do you need xbox live to just play single player cause i dont have internet im on my cell right now and i use my uncles computer to download i really want minecraft but if i cant play it without internet im not gunna get it

You can play without Internet, but you need it to download the game, obviously. So you'll have to bring your Xbox somewhere with Internet.

Huh, that's interesting. Minecraft should not be like that, being an official XBLA game as opposed to an indie game.

Its like that with all Indie games. For some reason you need to be connected to xbox live (you don't need xbox live gold) to play them. Its not the developers fault, Microsoft made it like that.

The reason you need to be connected at all times with indie games is to stop people from implementing secret code to try and hack the 360. If it wasn't monitored it would actually be very easy to hack the 360 from a software side.
