How do you keep them away at night? spent awhile building a sweet house that got the front blown off by a zombie and im not happy. the only ways in were a couple 2x1 windows and a wooden door. if the floors dirt do they come up from there?
If you want to prevent creepers from destroying your home barricade it with Stone. To do that put cobblestone in the furnace and it'll turn to stone. Creepers cannot destroy these blocks. I barricaded my castle with it and it's been safe ever since.
Also creepers can spawn in areas where there's just enough darkness and they come out during night and day. To prevent them from spawning really close to your home surround it with torches or some other light source.
TheJackoNerd posted... I'm like, 99% sure creepers can destroy normal stone.
Taken from the Minecraft Wiki about Creepers "Stone slabs provide excellent defense against creeper explosions as well, and are considerably easier to obtain than obsidian. While a creeper will typically blow out the stone slab itself, the slab will prevent the explosion from damaging the underlying blocks, even if said underlying blocks are dirt or weaker material."
GreenWanderer posted... Creepers can indeed destroy stone. I believe some blocks have different densities though, making them more optimal. Obsidian can't be blown up by creepers, however.
Alright well first, it's taking about slabs. Slabs are not stone blocks. Slabs are half of a block which can be crafted. Second, monsters spawn in the dark. Get the area well lit in order to stop things from spawning.
Freedan the Eternal -This is one of those TVs that, like my last girlfriend, are without a mute button, and everyone suffers as a result.
I haven't had my morning coffee yet lol I ment slabs however I honestly thought they couldn't be destroyed period until I looked it up. I have had numerous Creepers hit my home and the stone prevented all damage.
