Wait a minute, you need an HDMI cable for splitscreen?

You can't use one of those HD component cables? I'm confused. I thought you just need an HDTV and have the game played in HD.

I'm using a component cable and we can play split-screen, I think it just means as long as you can play with an HD connection, you'll be fine.

You just need to be able to play in at least 720. Minecraft is only 720 anyways, but that's the requirement. So no, an hdmi cable is not required.
