rathalos989Posted 6/17/2012 4:02:08 AM | ok if you think its good theres no duping, whatever. some people though talk like dupers are criminals. go play offline by yourself, people like you ruin the game ect. If you want to make something ike a 70x70 sandstone pyramid and mine sand for hours upon hours, be my guest. just realize you can be much more creative with infinite resources, and if you go to the point of insulting, and being hostile towards people who dupe, realiize your trying to uphold an unwritten moral code for a mini version of a game, and if you have the time to make huge buildings and mine all the materials, you really need to make some friends, get a job/work more or get a real hobby. --- I thought Minecraft was a boring, pointless grind, and a terrible game. Then I played it.... |

nofxnofxPosted 6/17/2012 5:08:21 AM | I am a hardcore anti duper, but that holds in my game, not anyone else's. I also don't give a damn if you dupe in your game. As long as it doesn't affect me then more power to you.
Problems arise in games like borderlands when the entire game devolves into save hacking and circle jerking exercises that do indeed affect your experience with the game whether you like it or not.
That is the important distinction in my opinion. |
PhoenixHunter89Posted 6/17/2012 5:17:44 AM | Come on in my town anyone who joins gets a stack of diamonds. We use them as currency and crafting materials. I have almost a spare chest left. Plus I pay out insurance if a creeper damages your home. without the glitch Im going to have to make everything expensive just to keep the flow. |
chicagogr81Posted 6/17/2012 7:36:08 AM | It would be one thing to be upset with glitches in a competitive multiplayer game like Call of Duty or Mortal Kombat or Madden Football that poison the spirit of competition those games are about. But I always viewed Minecraft as the opposite of hyper competitive games. Minecraft is a chance to express your creativity and enjoy a game that's not about winning and losing, not about beating the game, just playing for personal enjoyment.
You're not trying to outbuild the next guy, but simply be unique in what you make (even if you choose to replicate what someone else made) and appreciate what others create without needing to one up them. If you stringently oppose copying items because you think Minecraft should be a competition then I really think you're missing the point of the game. --- JD/MBA/MS --- GT: Arvs23 In My Lifetime: 1 Lombardi Trophy, 6 O'Brien Trophies, 1 Commissioner's Trophy, 1 Stanley Cup |
