Is this where I can find slimes?

#1OOTwigOOPosted 7/9/2012 1:14:01 PM
I am on the seed worstseedever and at coordinates x: 315, y: 12, and z:-92. I have a 20x20x3 room around that point and am on normal difficulty. The area is also lit up with light sources no further than three blocks from another light source. However, even waiting about 30-40 blocks away the slimes still are not spawning. So is this the correct area for slimes or am I doing something wrong.

I think you have to find slimes then build a room.

you could try using this:

I haven't tried it yet but almost every time there is a post about slimes someone posts it.

Here's the post by Sactown916 that I was talking about.

seed: worstseedever
Co-ordinates: X: 315, Y: 15, Z: -92

Build a 60x60 or 100x100 room around this point. Thats where I get all my slimes over five blocks of 64

Even though mine is at Y: 12, it shouldn't matter right?

It shouldnt matter what height you are at, as long as you are closer to bedrock.

However keep in mind the person posted the coordinates of the center of his room, which may not actually be a slime chunk. Your room is smaller than his, meaning you may not be in a chunk that spawns them to begin with. He never mentioned the coordinates where he saw one slime spawn, just where his GIANT room is. I also think you said your room is 20x20x3 ? If so raise the ceiling to 5 or 6 blocks.

Either way, extend your room a little bit. Slimes also have a very small chance of spawning. If there are any enemies around (behind the walls of your room) in the same chunk, slimes may not spawn. Hence the need for a such a large room.

I've been using this for slimes and I've had success with it.

According to the slime finder, the TC is super close to an area that can spawn slimes, but not in it.

The coordinates of the area is a 16x16 chunk between x: 288 z: -80 and x: 304 z: -64.

From the coordinates TC posted, he needs to go -11 blocks along x and +12 blocks along z to reach the corner of the area.

I have torches all over the ground on my bedrock town and it gets filled with slime. Just pointing out that this doesn't matter whatsoever.
