ArchMageSynokPosted 7/11/2012 3:31:07 PM | I was looking at the versions on the wiki and noticed that 1.8 gives us the XP bar but we won't get enchanting till release 1.2.3 (for 360 anyway). Does Xp serve any other purpose till then that I don't know about? Or are we just going to be stock-piling it till the update after?
also I am the only one more interested in the smaller things 1.8 brings like glass panes, fence gates, stackable food, stone bricks, etc... rather than the larger things like hunger bar and villages?

MarbiaachPosted 7/11/2012 3:35:20 PM (edited) | Personally, I was more of a fan of the smaller things like you. Stone bricks and glass panes are beautiful.(Especially since we had no idea what experience did back when 1.8 first came out.).
Although, experience also works as score. Every time you die you will see a score that shows how much EXP you collected.But other than that, until enchanting is added, experience is pretty useless.

DeadLock25Posted 7/11/2012 4:30:31 PM | You are definitely not alone on being a fan of the smaller things. I cant wait to get all the stuff from the 1.8 update. It will make decorating so much easier and expands the options for creativity significantly.
As for the experience bar, I never knew that we dont get enchanting until later. I always assumed 1.8 so thats disappointing to hear. But ohh well, at least it will be an easier transition from 1.8 to 1.2.3 than from 1.7.3 to 1.8.2

I expect them to bring it forward or leave it to the formula of the PC to avoid a community backlash.
