I'm talking creative here.

Yes. They function as a normal (albeit small) block, and can be placed diagonally like signs.

If only they could be placed onto signs.

I tried to make a scarecrow using a pumpkin, but I couldn't get it to work.

Ended up using the "face" wool blocks with the new Halloween texture. But still! I wanted pumpkins.

Step 1: Place Dirt (or similar easy to move block) under where you want Pumpkin.
Step 2: Place Pumpkin.
Step 3: Remove Dirt.
Step 4: Place fencepost under Pumpkin.

Pumpkins can only be placed on solid blocks, but you can remove the block after. Granted, I haven't tried placing a fence post under it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

EDIT: Just tried it, works fine.

I prefer a pumpkin on some wool with levers on the sides and then on a fence post :3 Full scarecrow with arms!

Thank you! It was bothering me, especially when the picture on the DL link showed a pumpkin on top of the fences, using the awesome Halloween pack.

An unexpected creeper came in and destroyed everything while you were trying to do something?
