Actually the death rate of spartans is much much higher than an average marine. Speaking purely statistically if you are a Spartan in the Halo Universe more than likely you are dead. "Spartans usually die" is a more accurate quote. . . However that doesn't sound quite as awesome.

Also, "heroes never die". . . *looks at Davy Crockett.
