lderivedx (Topic Creator) Posted 9/24/2011 5:15:00 PM | Well, it's not so much that as it is Bungie did not give many options for MLG to work with. Armor Lock is rather powerful. That's OK, we can just remove it. AR is useless. Removed. Bloom is awful. NOPE just Chuck Testa. --- If you still have any problems with my post I highly recommend you get over it. - Navex GT: i derive dx |
liplust121Posted 9/30/2011 5:16:02 AM | The idea of bloom in a halo game was great and I think the series needed it a lot sooner.
It has been in so many other games and it discourages spamming.
The only thing wrong with the bloom in Reach was it was not done correctly, half-heartedly and infact encouraged spamming.
The penalties for spamming the DMR were not great enough and made it more likely to hit rather then miss. It should have made the chance of missing a lot higher.
This video sums it up very nicely. Make bloom more rewarding to those who take their time and make it harder for those who spam.

And in those many other games, you can be killed by 2 shots making it a necessity. Most of Halo's weapons had a set rate of fire and the ones you could spam did have a penalty. Even before bloom, spamming an AR didn't work so great and the same goes for most automatic weapons. --- Teh Real Dejkha "I don't know why everyone is on your side but when I see and ass i point them out. liplust121Posted 9/30/2011 8:30:08 AM | I don't quite get your point. Could you expand on it a bit more please? Are you discussing, agreeing or disagreeing? It's like you only read that one line. I said bloom is a good thing if done correctly. The way it was implemented in Reach was wrong and it made it worse and encouraged spam. There was a slight bloom on the AR you are correct, but I think that it is needed for the precision weapons like the DMR, Needle rife right now for those reasons. Bloom taken out no will not do much to discourage spamming since every shot will hit where you aim.
Did you watch the video posted? It shows how proper bloom could be in Reach and make it much more worth while. |
_SawyerPosted 9/30/2011 11:38:37 AM | It regards to the one line I responded to, I was making the point that the effect of bloom (penalty for spamming) were already present in previous Halo games for automatic weapons. It just didn't include an expanding reticule. --- Teh Real Dejkha "I don't know why everyone is on your side but when I see and ass i point them out. And you friend, is a big ass" - Rizz02125 to me |
