The fundamental things that made Halo 1, 2 and 3 fun games are the exact things that they are trying to move away from. I have a feeling we are going to get more Reach type "innovations" and have a game that feels even less Halo-like.

i disagree completely. Bungie tried to move away from the core trilogy with Reach, and as we've seen with the updates 343 has done they want to take it back to what made halo awesome. obviously there was only so much they could do with Reach and it's not "fixed" but they at least made an attempt to make it playable while also working on halo 4. i expect this will at least be better than Reach. i hope it will be as good as the first three.

I'd have to agree with this. They removed bloom, balanced some armor abilities (removing them completely would still cause an uproar) and more. That, to me, shows they're at least trying to keep it more similar to the original trilogy. Honestly though, I'm not as hyped for it as I was for the other games though because of Reach.

I wont be hyped until I play it... If it's awesome I'll be hyped for the new trilogy.

I'm pretty excited. Just to have some continuity of Halo 3's ending, and see how it ties into the Forerunner Novels.

I agree that we shouldn't have extremely high hopes but the only reason reach was how it was was because Bungie was sick of making Halo games so that's why you got a mix of at least 6 different games in reach.

I agree with you in a way topic creator. I really liked Halo Reach's additions, though, from a story perspective, (I've read all the Non Forerunner books) I think Halo Reach should have played like Crysis 2, being that they were Spartan IIIs.

The fact they're going back to John...really bothers me. The Master Chief's story is over. I'd actually like to have seen a game Based around ODSTs where you are fighting remnant Innsurrectionists trying to bring them back into the fold of the Imperium of Manki...er...that is the UNSC.

And I don't like how they're going to retcon-hero the Master Chief swapping suits with one of Iron Man's back ups. Not that I dislike armor abilities, they're cool, and I think a perk system could work too, with player-customizable loadouts while still having power weapons and powerups on a map.

Again, I'd suggest taking it down the route of how Crysis 2 was done...I bought that game on a whim, and damn the entire way the Nanosuit 2 handles is exactly how I imagined a SPI Armor Spartan III would handle in a game.

I'm definitely not too excited for it. But I have hopes for it. I miss Halo being fun. I'd like that back.

I don't know, I have faith in 343.
