So this is what the Halo 4 enemies will look like

"Possibly. That's old Bungie concept art."

How old? Link me to where this picture is originally from.

"It's a concept art of an old enemy that bungie wanted to implement in halo 1 I believe."

O rly I follow Halo pretty closely and I don't remember seeing this in the concept art for Halo 1. This is fairly recent.

This is where I got the pic from:

The concept is of a Forerunner Promethean, created by Isaac Hannaford in 2007 (I believe; the entry where he originally posted it has been purged from his blog, so I'm going by memory).

I'm really interested to see what the Covenant species look like this time around. They've said it's going to be quite different.

What's love got to do, got to do with it?

"Forerunner Promethean, created by Isaac Hannaford in 2007"
2007? You sure dude cuz they didn't start talking about prometheans until that forerunner book came out last year. I mean if I'm wrong go ahead post your sources.

As I said, he purged it from the blog shortly after he posted, so I am going by memory. He also posted it alongside other Halo 3 concept art which leads me to believe that it was Halo 3 art.

Original blog: http://www.isaachannaford.com/

Isaac commenting that he had to remove the Promethean concept art from his site: http://www.isaachannaford.com/2011/02/deliver-hope-concepts.html

You can look up his name associated with the Promethean pic to see if you can find any more information, but I did not have much luck.

EDIT: If it's any credence, Forward Unto Dawn agrees with me. http://thegallery.forwarduntodawn.com/index.php/Halo-3/Unused-Assets/ih_promethean-bullet

Just because Prometheans weren't mentioned until Cryptum doesn't necessarily mean they are a new concept. The Falcon was an idea all the way back in Halo 2, but was shelved until Reach.

well that just shows that this isaac guy had some inside info. no doubt prometheans have been mentioned in bungie's staff meetings for quite some time.

If I had to guess, Prometheans were intended to be part of Halo 3 and were cut along with a large section of the extra Forerunner stuff such as the Guardian Sentinel. Now, with Halo 4 looming, they want to bring them back and they're using the Halo 3 concept art pieces as a starting template.

Personally, I still find the fact that he had to remove it rather pointless. The image isn't exactly hard to find even if it is gone from the original source. Just business, I suppose.

To be fair, that isn't exactly a Forerunner. Even if it's just concept art, it's the concept art of a Forerunner in his battle armor. So Bungie still left an aura of mystique when designing them because we don't know what they truly look like underneath.

the head is definetly geth. but besides that, the armor does look awsome.

Pretty sweet. Still hoping for Flood too though.
