Why exactly can you get banned for playing Halo 4 now? What rule are you breakin

Legit copy you won't get banned. There was a 1up article a year or two back talking about this (I believe)

It doesn't make sense to ban a player. Yes we all know about street dates but not all gamers and their parents or whomever is buying it knows. That's why it's the retailer's responsibility. No way MS would want bad press bc a store put out a pallet of games early (Kmart did this with something last year).

Only the pirates will be banned if they get caught. To be fair besides the article I'm referencing with no link but should be fairly easy to find... I have as much proof as the ones saying yes you will definitely get banned.

Anyone that says you will get banned is wrong.

Here's the article and it was for mw3

Summary: they claim they can but it would be a PR nightmare if you had it legitimately. And I'd still question if MS would even allow it, given the possible loss of subscribers.

you won't get banned of you're playing a legitimate copy.

You can get banned for playing a game before the street date, while your xbox is connected to the internet. Or you You can be reported by another player, even if you play offline. So yes, you can get banned....

Pirated copies are what they're after. Ban this close to the release date? Nah. I don't think they're worried about people getting an early advantage either. Wait until you start getting blind invites for boosting games.
