Shepard wins and it isn't even close. Snake is pretty much out of the equation, so I'll do a run down of every class of Shepard vs. Chief:
Soldier- The guns in ME are insane compared to Halo. Any distance fight would be dominated by Shepard. Chief and his weak guns/shields wouldn't stand a chance versus Shepard in a gun fight. The only way Chief would stand a chance is in a hand-to-hand fight, which simply wouldn't happen, but if it did then Shepard would still stand a chance. He has incredibly fast reflexes+immunity+omni blade. He took down a Yahg in a hand to hand fight so there's that.
Adept- Probably the most overpowered class versus Chief. Barrier would make him almost immune to Chief's weak guns. A hand-to-hand fight wouldn't even be possible as he can just use biotics against him.
Engineer- Drain his shields, disable his guns, mess up his HUD, use turrets/drones. No contest.
Infiltrator- INVISIBILITY+time slow down+immunity+tech abilities.
Vanguard- This is where the fun comes in. This would just be an easy charge+nova all day.
Sentinel- Tech+biotics+tech armor. Chief just can't handle it.

LOL...ok buddy, not going to happen....Chief would destroy

Like I said before, it comes down to the weapons. ME weapons, even basic pistols, fire projectiles at a significant fraction of the speed of light, lending them ridiculous kinetic and penetrative power. Chief's shields simply aren't designed with that in mind, while Shepard's are. If it was hand to hand, Chief would literally tear Shepard in half, regardless of his Lazarus augmentations.

Solid Snake wins.

Both Shepard and Chief are susceptible to knife assassinations.

it really doesnt though...those projectiles that ME weapons fire are so minute that they pack close to the same kinetic punch as the weapons used in Halo...NTM that chief has:

Enhanced eyesight- virtually able to see in complete darkness
Enhanced speed- able to run at bursts of 55 KPH
Enhanced strength- lift three times their body weight
Enhanced musculature- near-unbreakable skeleton
Enhanced reflexes- Twenty millisecond reaction time, even quicker in combat

AND thats all without his suit! Dude is a beast and this fight isnt even fair!!! 20 ms reaction time is virtually instant and would win the fight outright...

Mass Effect universe is vastly superior to that of Halo's (and especially Metal Gear's, which is essentially modern day), which would put Shepard at a significant advantage... not to mention the whole Mass Effect fields thing which gives the inhabitants of the ME universe the ability to control objects, gravity, and time itself.

Unless there was no weapons or technology allowed in this battle, Shepard would win 100% of the time. It doesn't matter how fast Chief's reflexes are when he's being ripped apart at the atomic level, or is being thrown off a cliff, or has been shot through the face by a weapon that fires projectiles are near the speed of light... it wouldn't matter one bit. Granted MC would put up more of a fight than Snake (who would quite possibly be dead from stray shrapnel within the first few seconds), he would need amazing luck to even compete with the basic run-of-the-mill Soldier Shepard.

Now, if no tech, biotics, or weapons were involved.. only the human being; their intellect, ability, and luck, only then would it be a fair fight, and only then would Snake not die in 2 seconds.

LMAO!!! A small covenant fleet, or UNSC for that matter, would destroy the reapers!!! This discussion has been done to death though... also shields in ME would protect against biotic attacks....so assuming Shepard throws one Chief would be fine for a bit as his shields slowly drained....DURING this time, and sheps recharge time, chief would close distance and destroy, or retreat and snipe the crud out of shep....like i said, there is no chance! Chief wins hands down

Weapons in the Halo universe are literally using ammunition developed in the mid 20th century.

None of that matters when Shepard obliterates him with weapons, biotics, or tech abilities.

Ship battles are one thing (and ship battles between ME and Halo are highly debatable). Ground battles are another thing, and ME technology on ground is simply much more advanced.

Keep in mind that Halo shields aren't anywhere near the power that ME shields are. And Shepard can dark channel+reave, leaving Chief completely helpless.

And Chief can't "retreat and snipe the crud out of shep" because his sniper rifle is nothing compared to Shepard's sniper rifles.
