you HAVE to install disc 2?

Fired up halo 4 to play with my buddy and he says "you install the game yet" To which I told him no, I was using disc 1. He then says that you HAVE to install disc 2 to play MP, and the screen did say I was missing content, but it just seems weird that they would make you install, cause of all the problems you here with the older Halo's and other games running like crap after you install to the HDD

No game runs worse installed on the hardrive. I don't care what Bungie said, Halo 3 ran better off the HDD.

The second disc is only 3.5 gigs anyway.

Well, people had scratched discs and it made some maps unplayable for a party on 3 and Reach.

Why would they make you install a game if it ran worse as a result? Yes, you HAVE to install disc 2.

Install disc two and you'll never need it again.

Me: I didn't think you needed one anymore.

Do you really think they would force you to install if it made the game run like crap? Halo 3 probably runs bad because it was made before you could install games. It was never made for that.

Id rather be able to play the campaign and multiplayer all from disc 1 rather than having to constantly swap between them like in Halo ODST

Even against Bungie's say, I installed Halo 3 and it ran just fine; I never noticed a difference in loading times. (for campaign)
