That is actually astronomical in sales, considering Halo 4 is on ONE platform, whereas Modern Warfare was on 3 platforms and only grossed 350 mill in one day. Halo 4 totally pwned opening day. But that didn't stop Company Town from shedding light on the fact to try and glamorize Call of Duty. I know, I am doing a CoD bashing. But, really, Halo 4 is doing substantial as one of the highest selling platform-based, exclusive first-party games since Super Mario Bros. 3, which had grossed over 1.7 billion dollars in sales for a single game, not part of the entire series, in sales (Call of Duty, eat that!). Seriously though, Halo 4 is going hard! And if it was on PC, and lord forbid PS3, the sales would have tripled to 660 million (and even more than that if it was STEAM-based). Pretty impressive for a rookie company like 343 to top, seeing how Activision has been around since the Dinosaur Ages of video games. --- XBL GT: Deathmyrk
Dude an exclusive will never beat a multi-platform release. Why is this worthy of it's own thread? I doubt gamefaqers are unaware of this. --- Xbox Live / PSN / Steam: Smakkyoface i7 3770k @ 4.66ghz, 24GB DDR3 1600, Evga Gtx 670 FTW.
Why all the hate? I spread good news, and everyone is hating. It's a good thing that Halo 4 is doing astronomical in sales = more likely sequels will be released = longer lifespan. No sales = bankruptcy for company and no sequels.
Also, someone earlier was worried that Halo 4 wasn't selling well and I was just posting this to reassure he or she that the game is doing very well and there need be no worrying. So, STOP THE HATING and don't read the topic if you don't want to. --- XBL GT: Deathmyrk
CoD MW3 sold over 5 million copies for the Xbox 360 on day one. That's 5,000,000 x $60 = $300,000,000
Still... Halo 4 did well.
COD is also grossly overrated
I agree, but I was pointing out that even on just the Xbox 360, MW3 sold more copies than Halo 4 did. No doubt due to the hype machine all over every website and tv show you might look at. --- "Do not be to eager to deal out death and judgment, for even the very wise cannot see all ends." -Gandalf
